Tanzania: a collision between a truck and three vehicles kills at least 25 people, including foreigners
At least 25 people were killed, including an American, a South African and a Kenyan, and 21 injured in a collision between a truck and three vehicles in northern Tanzania on Saturday, President Samia Suluhu Hassan lamented on Sunday.
The head of state « offered her condolences » for the « accident that left 25 people dead and 21 injured » on Saturday evening, after the truck driver « lost control » of his vehicle on the road between Arusha and Namanga, according to a statement from the presidency.
According to the text, the truck hit three vehicles, including one carrying « foreign nationals » who were volunteering at a school in Arusha.
Ten women, 14 men and one girl were killed in the accident, according to the statement. Among those injured were « foreign nationals from Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Switzerland, England and Mali », the statement continued.
